My passport expires Oct. 4th. I thought I was fine to travel. Until we got to the Air Transat counter. I was told that I, specifically me, would just be sent back once I landed in Amsterdam. My passport needed to be valid 3 months from the date of return.
M and I start to panic. What are we going to do now? We have invested so much into this vacation and we simply cannot turn back. So we were sent to The Air Transat Customer Service counter to find out our options.
Thank goodness the lady had a nice heart. Bless her soul. She found us a flight to Frankfurt and let us go on it for no charge. The only thing is that we would have to stay in the airport for an additional 5 hours. Better than nothing. From Frankfurt to Amsterdam we have to foot the bill and find our own way. So an additional $903 later, we have a connecting flight to Amsterdam.
So instead of arriving at 7:45 tomorrow, we get there around 7:30pm. It will be a long two days of not sleeping in a bed. The kids are what I worry about – they will be do exhausted. Poor V already fell asleep but is currently fussing. Z is playing Toca Boca Monsters on the iTouch. His bedtime at home is usually between 7:30 and 8:00pm. Tonight will be a very different time.
