Night Terrors and such

Ever since we’ve been back from Amsterdam, Z hasn’t had a restful night. Every night we anticipate him waking up at least twice screaming and crying. It’s hard because both him and M are exhausted from not sleeping through the night. Plus, he doesn’t get a full hour of nap at school.

V, on the other hand, doesn’t want to sleep in her own bed. Whenever she wakes, she’s screaming and crying to be picked up. She’s happy only in our bed.

Hope our kids sleep better soon.

Sleep Training Update

It will be a week tomorrow since I initiated sleep training with V. The 3rd day was the best one since she stayed in her crib all night and didn’t have frequent waking.

Lately she has been teething – upper front two teeth are slowly coming out. I can see them there and they have partially broken skinning the gums but not out out yet. So her night times are rough, waking every 2 hours. Last night I just brought her in around 10:30 so she could at least just nurse on demand.

I’m hoping the teeth come out sooner so she can have much better sleeps. We want to sleep train her for naps as well. Besides she is starting home daycare tomorrow for half a day. I’m worried for Z and V. More for Z because he always dreads when we have to leave his side.

Almost Back to Normal

Last night was the first time in a while that V did not wake up every hour. She also napped better today. Seems that her bedtime between 6-6:30pm works well. I hope she sleeps better tonight.

As for Z, He has been sleeping much better at night, no more waking up, except last night. He woke up because his diaper leaked. Then in the morning, he came into our room at 5:20am – way too early! So M had to escort him back and sleep mon the couch in his room.

To prevent that, (I don’t know why we never thought of it before)I set the radio alarm to go off at 6:30am. I explained to him that he is to stay in room until the alarm goes off. We’ll see if it works. It will buy us some shut-eye time.

Co-sleeping

For the last month now, V has been having terrible nights and so were we. She slept in the carseat for about 2 weeks. Then we started bringing her into the bed and that’s when I realized that she can sleep on her back again.

So out with the carseat and into her crib we put her. However, she would wake up crying every hour and we would take turns going up to her. Some nights it’s gas but some nights I truly do not know. She’s still teething and has not popped a tooth out yet.

I know that every baby is different but both our babies have not been good sleepers. Oh well. Cosleeping works until about 4:30-5:30 when she decides it’s time to start playing and talking.
